A.Twelve years earlier Prospero was the Duke of Milan and Miranda was a princess. However, they were
betrayed by his brother, Antonio, That is why Prospero calls Antonio a false uncle as he had deceived
him and Miranda and with the King of Naples,Antonio had deposed him in a coup.
2. What does Miranda recall from her childhood?
A.Miranda recalls that when she was a child she had four to five women taking care of her.
3. How did Prospero make an exit from his kingdom with his daughter?
A.With the aid of Gonzalo, Prospero had escaped in a boat with the infant Miranda and his books of
magic and food supplies. They travelled to the island, made it their home.
4. When Prospero met with the misfortune, what comfort did his little daughter provide him?
A.When Prospero met with the misfortune his little daughter's smile prvided with comfort which was
infused with a fortitude from heaven.
5. What qualities did Prospero possess that kept him moving?
A. Prospero had the qualities of bravery and survival that kept him moving so that one day he could take
back his kingdom from his enemies.
6. Why is Miranda surprised to know about their real identity?
A.Miranda is surprised to know about their real identity because she was only a child when this
misfortune happened and her father had never told her this earlier.
